• Lead the planning and design of Drilling Programs, including Casing Design, Drilling Fluid, Casing, Cementing, and Directional Drilling.
• Analyze well design and develop efficient methods to optimize drilling performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new wells
• Design contingency plans for operations that may face technical challenges or unplanned issues.
• Supervise and support field drilling operations to ensure adherence to the drilling program
• Review and adjust drilling parameters to optimize performance and reduce operational downtime.
• Provide technical advice to the drilling teams during operations to resolve challenges promptly.
• Manage well-site engineers and drilling contractors to ensure compliance with established procedures
• Monitor real-time drilling performance and provide regular reports to management on progress, risks, and any deviations from the plan.
• Conduct post-well reviews and incorporate lessons learned to optimize future drilling programs.
• Review daily drilling re• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, efficiency, or quality.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geologists, and other technical teams to optimize well design and drilling techniques.
• Obtaining relevant information, conducting on-site engineering analysis, making recommendations for taking necessary measures and writing reports
• Monitors current day-to-day costs, compares actual costs with cost proposals and recommends cost-effective changes
• Registration and analysis of lessons learned in drilling operations at intervals
• Preparation of Change Management document in case of any deviation from approved plan during drilling operations and approval before operations
• Comparing the actual parameters of drilling operations with the plan
• Conduct advanced simulations, torque and drag calculations, and hydraulic modeling.
• Evaluate and recommend drilling tools, equipment, and service providers.ports, well logs, and other technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in planning and executing offshore wells , with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Proven experience with high pressure (HP) wells drilling is preferred.
• Well planning, Drilling Program, DWOP/ EOWR knowledge
• Proficiency in casing design theory and related software
• Advanced knowledge in Wellbore trajectory design
• Expertise in drilling fluid systems and well control practices
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and field personnel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Act as a liaison between drilling teams and clients to ensure smooth communication.
• Written and spoken English language proficiency.
• Commitment to Health, Safety and Environment and personal and process safety.
• Ability to work steadily under pressure and adapt efficiently to fast-paced operations.
• Valid Well Control certification (IWCF or IADC) is required.
• Additional safety and technical certifications are a plus (e.g., HSE certifications).
