To effectively manage the accounting/finance team.
To ensure all accounting entries within the individual’s area of control (i.e. project, contract, service line) are recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
This involves the provision of timely reporting of financial data internally to business stakeholders and externally to the client.
Furthermore, financial reporting will extend to forecasts, budgets and a “no surpises” outlook, together with ad-hoc financial analysis.
This will require the management of a team and to demonstrate influencing skills with business management and other functions.
Responsibility for ensuring the team have prepared all accounting entries accurately and in line with corporate deadlines;
Supervision and execution of month-end closing procedures, detailed review of Profit&Loss Statement, approving manual journals/transactions/accruals;
Maintaining regular cash flow statement and monthly rolling forecast of revenue and expenses;
Maintaining accurate balance sheet accounts reconciliations;
Responsibility for ensuring the team prepare invoices in a timely manner and in accordance with the commercial terms of the contract;
Ensure results are accurately reported and analysed;
Effective management of accounting team, task allocation and delegation;
Manage the team, making sure everything is reviewed prior to sharing with stakeholders;
Providing analysis of bill and cost rates, and margins to manage profitability as required;
Preparation and ownership of annual plan and quarterly reforecast in conjunction with Business Management and finance team;

Responsibility for compliance with Financial management Framework within the individual’s sphere of control;
Responsibility for ensuring the team focus on cash collection, optimisation of DSO and minimisation of unbilled items together with ensuring these balance sheet areas are appropriately reconciled, analysed and controlled by the team;
Liaising and close participation with external, internal and client auditors, responsible for annual audit of IFRS financial statements;
Reporting of financial performance to Business Management team and finance manager
Linkage with Business Manager and contracts administrator regarding any contractual aspects;
Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required;
Further education through College or University with a recognised accounting qualification
Qualified CIMA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent
5 years + accounting experience
Proficient user of excel
People supervision experience and skills
Good commercial experience
Good at using ERP and other IT systems (Oracle, Hyperion)
