Cost Control
- Support/lead and maintain the project budget in coordination with project management team.
- Monitor project expenditures and commitments against the approved baseline budget and work breakdown structure (WBS).
- Support change management processes by evaluating cost impacts of scope changes and variations.
- Track and analyze variances between actual costs and budgeted figures; flag deviations, define any possible impact of those deviations, and recommend corrective actions (schedule adjusting, staffing, project timeline).
- Regularly track project risk register to forecast any possible cost variances across project.
- Conduct regular cost-focused site/field visits to verify physical progress, validate reported data, and assess cost implications on the ground.
- Coordinate with procurement and contract teams to manage and validate supplier/contractor invoices.
- Update cost forecasts based on actual performance, committed costs, and anticipated future expenditures.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date data input across reporting systems and tools.
- Lead cost control trainings or onboarding sessions for new project or site team members.
Performance Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for project cost and performance metrics
- Produce periodic (weekly, monthly) (cost, schedule, etc.) reports for internal stakeholders and external clients (status report, progress report, trend report, variance report, forecast report)
- Report a summary of any changes made to the project, the reason for each change, and summary impact of changes.
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) by integrating cost, schedule, and progress data.
- Assist in developing KPIs for cost and schedule performance across project disciplines.
- Support in facilitation of project reviews and reporting meetings with leadership and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather progress data and align on budget impacts.
- Liaise with finance and accounting departments to reconcile project expenditures and reporting cycles.
- Support audits and compliance reviews related to cost and performance data.
- Engage with site teams during visits to ensure cost-related insights are grounded in actual field conditions.
- Support the preparation of board-level or investor presentations related to project performance.
