Vakansiyanın təsviri
- Follow global energy markets, identify emerging trends, and assess the potential impact of them on company operations;
- Produce concise analytical reports and presentations, translating complex economic findings into clear, actionable recommendations;
- Develop short, medium and long-term price, demand and margin forecasts;
- Run scenario and sensitivity analyses to guide strategic planning;
- Lead econometric modelling of crude, product and gas markets;
- Maintain and improve Python/R-based forecasting models;
- Keep track of governmental policies, regulations, and international agreements that could affect the oil-gas industry, and provide recommendations on how the company should adapt to these changes;
- Collaborate with Finance, Strategy and Investment teams to integrate economic insights into investment cases and budget outlooks;
- Contribute to the development of energy balance, tariff policy, and pricing policy-making activities, ensure methodological rigour and on-time delivery;
- Support company-level calibration of net-zero pathways, carbon-pricing assumptions and climate-risk assessments;
- Represent SOCAR at industry conferences, inter-agency working groups and engagements with external analysts.
Xüsusi tələblər
- Master’s degree in energy-related fields, energy economics, business administration;
- 3-5 years overall, 2-3 years of related experience, preferably in oil and gas industry;
- Ability to conduct independent research, gather relevant data, and analyze economic trends and patterns to generate meaningful insights;
- Deep understanding of global oil-and-gas value chains, energy-transition drivers and regulatory frameworks;
- Familiarity with economic policies, regulations, and their potential impact on the industry and markets;
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis, statistical methods, and econometric modeling. Working knowledge of statistical software like R, Python, or STATA is preferred;
- Eagerness to stay updated with the latest economic developments, research, and methodologies in the field;
- The ability to think critically and analytically, assessing economic situations from various angles and identifying potential risks and opportunities;
- Collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and contribute economic insights to inform business decisions;
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and balance research, analysis, and reporting;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Azerbaijani and English.
