- Development of all lifting plans for Turan D&E and verify these are approved by BP lifting engineer (LE) and the offshore platform SLCPs (i.e. Deck Supervisor, Drilling Shift Supervisor and Site Lifting Competent Person).
- Seek contribution from the discipline engineers (e.g. lifting engineer, structural engineer, intervention engineer etc.), and site competent people such as deck supervisor, shift supervisor, driller etc. in the development of the lifting plans.
- Standardization and communication of the lifting plans to drilling SLCPs.
- Seek authorization of the lifting plans from bp SLC (Site Lifting Coordinator).
- Identification of areas for simplification and efficiency for lifting plans.
- Contribution in the risk assessments for lifting operations.
- Verification of the lifting operations in-situ to verify compliance with approved lifting plans.
- Communicates with bp Lifting Engineer for improvement, simplification, and standardization of lifting plans.
- Liaise with the Turan CoW Specialist for the update and development of existing and new lifting related Risk Assessed Procedures and manage the renewal and reauthorization.
- Develop a system tracker for all lifting plans across all platforms for tracking and monitoring reauthorization of current lifting plans.
- Conduct offshore survey of drilling lifting operations for development of lift plans, coordinating with the offshore SLCP’s.
- Conduct coaching sessions with existing drill crew and increase their knowledge around safe lifting practices.
- Mobilize offshore as required for major breakdown support.
- Identify equipment to be sourced for normal operations which will be located in platform rigging loft via Operations SLCP.
- Verify compliance with the BP and Turan lifting procedures.
- Verify compliance to all client procedures & relevant Turan Drilling and Engineering and KCA Deutag Drilling Group Management Systems.
- Work closely with the onshore Turan COW Specialist to verify full visibility of ongoing projects and work scopes.
- Liaise regularly with offshore based maintenance and operations personnel to advise in any required lifting support is required and any related risks.
- Provide support and coach to offshore operational team members.
- Assist with the Mentoring and development of the work force to achieve high safety performance in relation to lifting operations.
- Attend, at Company base or Client premises, meetings and additional training, as may be required.
- Verify that all employees have sufficient information and knowledge to carry out their job safely without endangering any persons, plant or equipment and are adequately trained and experienced for a particular task before they are instructed to carry it out.

- High level of proficiency in English both written and spoken.
- Good degree of computer literacy in PowerPoint and sketching for lift plan development.
- Suitable technical qualifications, e.g. Recognised Appointed Person qualification.
- The individual should have knowledge of the permit to work system and HSE policies
- Ability to coach and mentor others.
- Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
