Analyzing configurations of the basic structural components of a structure;
Calculating the pressures, stresses, and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes;
Considering the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel, and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design;
Liaising with other designers, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction;
Examining structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure;
Making drawings, specifications, and computer models of structures for building contractors;
Applying expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures;
Undertake any other jobs or tasks related to his position assigned by Engineering Managers.

A degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine & Offshore Technology, or its equivalent
2+ years of relevant work experience and knowledge of AutoCAD-related courses
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, drawings, and symbols according to international standards;
Designing, analyzing, and ensuring the structural integrity of various projects by utilizing industry-standard software and tools to produce accurate designs and documentation.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write technical documents clearly and accurately;
The ability to interface with shipyard engineering and construction activities to develop project documentation within cost and schedule constraints;
Capability to work against deadlines and prioritize work assignments accordingly;
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills;
Must have computer knowledge in AutoCAD, Ansys, MATLAB, and MS Office;
