• Capturing and editing photo content and working closely with Communication Specialist: covering UNICEF activities, events, and first-person narratives as per specifications of the format, platform, shot listing, etc.
• Participating in and contributing to the whole production process including discussion, conceptualization, planning/storyboarding, building narratives, writing production plans, shooting schedules, taking photos, editing and final packaging. This will often require working with videographers.
• Providing captions to photos according to UNICEF’s guidelines.
• Submitting the deliverables in formats applicable to UNICEF platforms, broadcasters, online news, and social media outlets, as previously agreed with the supervisor.
• The consultants will use their own equipment: camera, software and other accessories and software that may be required to complete the tasks.
• The consultant will not give the content/material or any part thereof, to any third party without the written permission of UNICEF. All components will be the property of UNICEF, and the consultant will not share the same with anyone else.
• The consultant will not put their own name or logo/emblem on the content / final product. The only organization branding will be UNICEF, if required.
• Keep in mind culture, gender, and other sensitivities as per UNICEF guidelines. The video/footage/text should be appropriate for diverse audiences and have universal appeal.
• Ensure effective and efficient provision of services, keep full confidentiality of all aspects of the assignment; manage information flows and follow-up on deadlines and commitments made.
• Ensure dignity of subjects, particularly in the context of children and vulnerable groups.
• Ensure consent forms are signed by children and/or guardians as well as adults participating in the projects as per UNICEF guidelines.
• Ensure all footage is cutting edge and meets the latest, competing technical standards.
• Be available for several rounds of editing depending on the feedback.
• Conduct all work independently, in accordance with professional standards. This includes working from their own office and using their own hardware and software equipment.
  
  

Deliverables Of The Photography Consultant

• Planning and pitching ideas.
• Production of photo content: around 30-40 photos per assignment.
• Broad editing of photo content.
• Capturing detailed captions and possibly quotes.
• Photos to be submitted within 1 working day after completion of each of the production day.

• Diplomas/certificates relevant to the field of services (I.e., media, communication, journalism, film production studies or certificates; or in another relevant field).
• At least 5 years of professional experience in working in a humanitarian context or in an international environment (experience in work on topics regarding the vulnerable groups is preferred).
