Develop and provide tailored training materials, including presentations and protocols, to meet the laboratory's specific needs.
Conduct 2 days training on hands-on practical sessions, 1) demonstrating techniques for microbiological sample analysis and the use of laboratory equipment, and on 2) method validation, verification, and measurement validation, as well as the evaluation of data for uncertainty calculation.
Train participants on essential calculations including:
Overview of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
Accuracy (trueness and precision)
Specificity and selectivity
Limit of Detection (LOD) and Limit of Quantification (LOQ)
Linearity and working range
Repeatability and reproducibility
Measurement uncertainty considerations in validation
Key terminology and definitions
Difference between validation and verification
When to verify a method (standard methods, regulatory methods)
Parameters for verification (limited vs. full validation approach)
Practical steps in verification of standard methods
Acceptance criteria and decision-making
Verification reports and documentation
Provide a report summarizing the training process and its outcomes, evaluation of participants' performance, and recommendations for improving laboratory practices.
