Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- A professional qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, PMI-SP) is an advantage.
Experience
- 4–6 years of hands-on cost control experience within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Prior experience at an operator company is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with cost management and cost control.
- Familiarity with Joint Venture (JV) reporting, Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) environments, and AFE management is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in cost control software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of project accounting principles, WBS structures, and cost coding systems.
- Knowledge of upstream project lifecycle phases — Appraisal, FEED, Execution, and Operations.
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural project environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluency in English is required; Azerbaijani and/or Russian language skills are an advantage.
